Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.
Whilst we do everything we can to find new loving homes for the cats in our care, it is a reality that our cats will have to spend some time in a rescue environment. Our DIY volunteers use their passion for all things DIY to help keep Cats Protection sites safe, tidy and welcoming. The cats in our care are more likely to be rehomed if they are content in their environment, and members of the public are more likely to visit their local Cats Protection site if it is a well maintained and enjoyable place to visit.
Our DIY volunteers usually spend 1 to 2 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
We are committed to building a diverse, compassionate and inclusive organisation where everyone can be themselves and do their best. We are courageous and compassionate in our purpose of helping people see the world through cats’ eyes. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we are all for cats. Join the UK’s leading cat welfare charity and help make a better life for cats, because life is better with cats.
